Harshali Academy brings this inspiring tale to life, helping students understand the challenges of growing up and facing fears. By listening to this chapter on Harshali Academy, learners can connect deeply with the emotions of the young seagull and grasp the important lessons about bravery and self-belief. "Two Stories About Flying" is not just about birds but about every child’s journey to confidence. Class 10Th English (Words And Expression 2) Chapter 3 Two Stories About Flying Now children, let us begin a new and beautiful story about courage, fear, and growing up. Close your eyes for a moment and imagine you are standing on the edge of a very high cliff. Below you is the deep blue sea. The wind is blowing. Your heart is beating fast. You want to move forward, but your legs are trembling. This is exactly how the young seagull in the story “His First Flight” feels. From the earliest times, human beings have dreamt of flying in the sky like birds. Today we have airplanes and helicopters, but long ago, flying seemed impossible. In this story, we see a young seagull who must learn to fly for the very first time. And just like many of us when we try something new, he is afraid. The young seagull was sitting alone on a narrow ledge, which means a small shelf-like space on the side of a cliff. His two brothers and sister had already flown away the day before. They had taken a small run, flapped their wings, and bravely jumped into the air. But he could not do it. Every time he went near the edge and looked down at the vast sea miles below, he felt sure that his wings would not support him. This is a very common exam question: Why was the young seagull afraid to fly? The answer is that he was scared of the great height and doubted the strength of his wings. Even though his wings were bigger and stronger than those of his younger sister, he could not gather the courage to jump. His parents tried everything. They called out to him shrilly, which means loudly and sharply. They even scolded him, or upbraided him, and threatened to let him starve if he did not fly. But for the life of him, he could not move. That phrase means he simply could not force himself to take the step. Now think about your own life. Have you ever been afraid to ride a bicycle for the first time? Or afraid to speak on stage? Even if others around you succeed, your heart still beats fast. The most important learning points in this chapter are Fear of trying new things is natural but must be overcome to grow., Courage and self-belief help us face challenges., Parental encouragement can push us to discover our strengths., Hunger and necessity can motivate action., Flying symbolizes freedom and maturity in the story..
