High up in the mountains, where the air is fresh and clean, an eleven-year-old girl named Yangdol and her twin brother Dorjay sit outside their home wrapped in warm blankets. Above them stretches a sky so clear and full of stars that it almost looks like a glowing blanket filled with tiny diamonds. Yangdol whispers, “Dorjay, look! The sky looks so different from the city!” Dorjay nods and says, “Yes, there’s no smoke, no bright lights—so we can see everything clearly.” Their grandfather joins them and says, “Children, what you are seeing is a sky free from air pollution and light pollution.
